Our bees are safe!
Honeybees are not very interested in humans. Their daily mission is to bring nectar, pollen, resin, or water back to their colony to ensure its development. Our partner Alvéole also works with a special Italian variety of bees, carefully selected for their peaceful temperament. In other words, our bees have no reason to sting.
Coexisting in urban environments
It is simple, easy, and natural to coexist with bees. Cities are an oasis for them due to the lack of pesticides, the abundance of floral resources, the temperate climate, and the availability of water sources. Espace Montmorency is contributing to the fight against the decline of bee populations!
The benefits of urban beekeeping
Installing a beehive in the city can help educate urban residents about the environment while also having a positive impact on the surrounding ecosystem.

- Bees feed on the nectar from flowers and plants within a 5 km radius of their hive.
- Worker bees dedicate their lives to serving their colony and will never leave it for another.
- Bees perceive colors very well, especially blue, purple, and violet.
- Each bee lives 3 to 6 weeks in summer and 3 to 6 months in winter.
- Bees visit up to 4,500,000 flowers to produce each kilogram of honey.
- With colorful and dynamic displays, the hive will be an attractive element for the Espace Montmorency community.
